Here's my poem for Eoghann:
A Man You Could Rely On
for Eoghann
Here was a man
who fished and enjoyed life
until he left us
much loved this man was
for that mischievous look
as much as his kindness
and his willingness to help out
with whatever was asked of him.
It’s hard to believe
he’s no longer with us
he always seemed
larger than life
always there
always full of fun
a man you could rely on
in any situation.
He lives on
as a legend on Luing
and the Isles.

I first met Eoghann, on my first visit to Lying, over thirty years ago, along with Lachie, and Beaky at Jubilee. I remember remarking on my return home, that I could now see why Jesus chose fishermen, as his first and closest friends.
